My DH's aunt is getting married in mexico in the middle of January. Is it reasonable to take a13-15 week old baby to this? We would be there for about 4 days. I really would like to go. My H would be there photographer and taking the pictures for there wedding, so he is going no matter what. I am just concerned about getting the birth certificate fast enough, and a passport for the baby since we will need to fly. Am I crazy to think that this would be reasonable?? I keep going back and forth between thinking that it is crazy, and thinking that it will be awesome. This trip will be paid for because of the photography, so I think that is making me lean towards wanting to do it. I'm just not sure if I am being bias because of that though. Thoughts please.
Re: Travelling abroad with an infant
"God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13So much malaria can be prevented with mosquito nets, you could protect that way. Same with the dengue, those mosquitoes fly at night. You could put her in a stroller or car seat with a net draped over. Also, if you are in A/C, that would be sufficient protection.
I don't think many anti-malarial drugs are good options, but it's based off of my non-medical knowledge. According to Dr. Google, larium, doxycycline, and malarone look like they aren't suitable. However, "chloroquine and proguanil may be given safely to babies and young children, but the doses used are much smaller than those recommended for adults." I don't have any experience with these two.

Thanks for the input everyone. We don't need to book right now. I was mostly just concerned about getting a passport in time. It's something that is important to us, and I don't totally expect it to be a vacation. Although there will be tons of family who I know will want to hold the baby a lot.
Good point to double check with the pediatrician about shots and all as well.
