Cleaning chair cushions?

I bought a used glider and had my husband pick it up. It turns out the cushions are fairly dirty. They can be removed from the chair, though. Any ideas for how to clean it? I don't want to ruin them by throwing them in the washing machine. Thanks!

    Do you have a steam cleaner? If not, you can have a professional company come out to clean it. I'm about to have my rugs, carpet and couch steam cleaned in preps for LO becoming mobile and being on the ground more.
