DH asks me DAILY what it feels like to have LO kick, move around, etc inside.
My doctor claimed "it's like gas". I don't think that's the best way to explain it but don't have a good analogy. I feel bad for him since he's curious but it's just...different.
How would you ladies describe it?

For me it literally feels like someone poking me from the inside...gas was a good analogy early on (and when he's shifting in there) but when he's kicking/punching that's what it feels like. Little kicks feel like muscle spasms.
The first time H felt him kick he was like "Wow that's crazy....seems like it would get annoying after a while!" And that, H, is why women carry the babies for nine months...
There are different feelings.
I've used Fish swimming. Like if you've ever had a goldfish in a bag and it swims up against the side of the bag.
Sometimes I feel a twitch like when your eye lids twitch
sometimes it feels like a roll....like a rolling pin rolling slowly in my tummy.
This!
When you were a kid, did you ever catch minnows in your hands? That's what it feels like to me, on a larger scale and in my stomach.
It feels like when I'd catch minnows in my hands and they'd dart from side to side and hit my hands.

Yep, this exactly. When I was waiting to feel movement, I kept expecting it to feel like gas, or butterflies, or a muscle twitch... and then it felt like I swallowed a rather wiggly fish.
This is exactly how it has always felt for me too
This.
