I need them. I have an apple tree absolutely covered with apples.
Last year I did a major prune back of my tree and we only had about a dozen apples, this year there are so many apples that many of the branches are hanging straight down.
The apples will be ready in a few weeks and I need to figure out what to do with them all. I'm going to make a bunch of applesauce, but beyond that I have no clue.
TIA
Re: Your favourite apple recipes?
Apple pie and apple crisp are big at my house. We used to have apple trees and my mom had two full weekends when she made just pies (think mass producing pastry, one kid peeling apples, one kid slicing etc)
Have you considered dehydrating them? YUM!
You could make jam and apple butter if you like things like that. If you still have an over abundance of apples I'm sure a shelter or soup kitchen would gladly take them off your hands.
I do have a dehydrator, so I could do a bunch of dried apples. I like jam, but DH hates it for some reason so I never make that much.
LLH2010 you reminded me of a local program we have through our bear aware program: I list my tree and they match me with a person, or group, who will come and pick it.
TY
