Trying to Get Pregnant

New and frustrated already...

So DH and I have just started TTC and it's 12DPO and I am so anxious. I'm trying to stay calm but I feel like I am making everything I am feeling a pregnancy symptom. I have been cramping like crazy since 9 DPO and my AF is due tomorrow but I just have this feeling like I may be pregnant. I took a FRER Thurs. and today but in the late afternoon and both BFN!

Has anyone else felt like this??? Is it too early to feel like this when we just started TTC?

  • It's better to take pregnancy tests first thing in the morning.

  • This is my first month TTC and I feel the same way you do! I hope it doesn't take too long or I am going to drive myself crazy!

  • Hopefully this is your month, but if not you'll learn that phantom symptoms are a common occurrence. I think it is because you are paying more attention to your body. GL!

After 18 cycles, you seem to not care about the phantom symptoms much and just wait til AF is due to test.

    TTC #1 since April '09
Dec '09 Laparotomy & laparoscopy for large cyst & HSG all clear
August '10-June '11 TTA for hip surgeries
    Cycle #23...Dx: MFI, low p4
    2 rounds of Clomid (50 mg) = BFNs...October SIS & 2nd HSG all clear
Plan after saving: repeat s/a + Clomid + Novarel + IUI

This is what I do. If AF is late, then I test.

  • I was like that in the beginning, thinking that every little twinge or cramp was because I was pregnant.

    Then I got over it.

    Good luck!

  • Sadly, everything during the 2WW feels like a pregnancy symptom.  We are so much more conscious of our bodies that we can't help but read into every little thing!  I am with PPs in that I don't test anymore until I expect AF.  Saves a lot of tests Wink

  • I am the exact same way. DH and I just decided that we were going to start TTC this month. I know that all the odds are not in my favor for getting a BFP this month. I've been having cramps and bloating just like I normally do before I get my period, but yet something in me keeps getting my hopes up. It's so hard to ignore the phantom symptoms and to remain calm when you want to be pregnant so bad!

  • I am sorry, but I can totally relate Sad This is our 4th cycle TTC, and I tend to go crazy each month with looking at my chart, over-analyzing our timing, etc.  It is really hard when you are hoping and praying to be pregnant.  I hate to be this way, but I have kind of gotten to the point where I expect the worst (AF), and hope for the best (BFP).  I know the BFP will come someday, but I am really trying to not drive myself crazy thinking about it all the time. Good luck to you!!

I had the crazy phantom symptoms last cycle and then AF showed up early. The worst part is google only confirms all my crazy symptoms and tells me I'm pregnant.

So this cycle I will not google (yeah right Embarrassed) and realize a lot of these symptoms are from coming off BCP after 11 years.

Hah I learned the hard way that Google is NOT my friend when it comes to looking up these symptoms!

I was the same - after getting off BC I had all these symptoms that felt new (serious cramping, sore boobs, even nausea) but were actually just my body adjusting without BC.
