  • Well you know my experience...I hope yours ends much differently and I will be keeping you and your babies in my thoughts!

I would not take any chances with modified bedrest - I would put yourself on full bedrest and I am surprised your doctors didn't recommend hospital bed rest.  Also, you could be contracting and not feeling it (I did that) and so you should also ask for P17 injections.

Let me know if there is anything at all I can do.  My cervix doctor is there in Chicago but I am not sure there is much he can do but he is super responsive to emails so I could share that if you have questions for him about what he might recommend.

  • PLEASE do not wait for 2 weeks to go back to your doc. You need to seek a second opinion fast! I'm not trying to scare you, but I know first hand about a funneling cervix. I had a cerclage places at 18 weeks and even with bedrest ended up delivering at 24. A MFM can do a cerclage before it's too late. By the time mine was caught I was already 2cm dilated. If they would have caught it earlier they would have had more to work with and it may have held better/been stronger. When I got to the hospital I was less than a cm dilated and hours later I was already 2-2.5. 2 weeks is far too long, especially with twins. If your OB can't or won't do a cerclage you should contact a MFM to see I'd they will give you a 2nd opinion.

Thanks.  I have yet to figure out why my OB is being so lax about this.  I have an appt. w/an MFM for 9am Monday, and hopefully will be given more options then.
