Flame-Free Saturday? I hate my cat.

Yes, I said it. I HATE my cat. I have two cats, Layla is a perfect angel I got from the shelter. She is cuddly and wonderful and I love her to death.

Minka, on the other hand, is my dumb cat. I found her on the side of the road when she was a baby. She was half-starved and I had to feed her with a syringe for weeks. To thank me for this, she pees on everything. She is fixed and knows how to use the litter box so I don't know what her issue is. I just went into the spare bedroom to find she had peed on just about every single blanket and sheet set in the closet. I just want to vent, I'm obviously not giving her away. I guess this is just what you get when you bring a homeless cat home.

    Cat piss is awful, especially if it gets into carpet. I feel your pain.

    We are having the same issue with one of our cats. She is a rescue and has major anxiety. She is scared of her own shadow. She will pee on anything we leave on the floor and most recently it was a burp clothe. I am putting a call into the vet on Monday to see if they can help. I have heard that if they are sick (kidney infection, UTI) that can be a cause.

    odoban is awesome to get rid of any smell esp cat urine. it can be used on carpets and you can use it in the wash. you can find it at sams clubs and walmarts. 

    good luck. I have had two cats do this and both ended up having a UTI infection. We make sure that our current cat has tons of water which seems to help.

    I wish it was a medical problem. But, she has been to the vet and nothing is wrong. I just have a dumb cat. *sighs*

    Is she acting out b/c of the baby? My oldest dog has been a bit of a brat as far as getting into things he's not supposed to ever since we brought LO home.

    Possibly, I've noticed when I'm holding Lila sometimes Minka will try to get on top of her in my lap. That behavior concerns me so much that Lila's door is shut at night so Minka can't get into her crib.

    YIKES!   I've just been trying to give the dog extra tummy rubs, and DH gives him extra playtime.  He's just been a little toot to me, he doesn't pay any attention to LO.

    my vet did not find this till a few visits after it kept on happening. also life changing events can bring it on. 

    try making sure that the cats water is fresh often and maybe try giving this cat extra attention when you can. cats can be tricky with jealousy

    My cat suddenly last month started pooping outside his litter box. Particularly on this old sheet that our dogs used to sleep on. Then in his own cat bed! We threw them away and it stopped. It was strange.

    If you think this is a stress/nerves/jealousy issue they sell this stuff at most pet stores (but online for sure) called Feliaway. Its a spray and they also sell it in a plug in now that releases a scent that relaxes the cat. When we moved here from Cali. My girl cat Cami decided that she was going to pee in random places in our rental house. She knew where the litter box was but I think she was trying to get back at us for the 10 hour car ride in her kennel and for making her an inside cat.
