Infertility

Hurricane Irene

I'm in Middletown, NJ and staring down the barrel of Hurricane Irene. If I had to evacuate (thankfully, I am on high land and don't have to) my fertility meds would definitely be the first thing I put in the car! :)
Me: 31, Dx: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, Elevated AMH of 18 DH: 34 & borderline morphology issues IUI#1/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = Mild OHSS & BFN IUI#2/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = BFN IVF#1 converted to FET due to moderate OHSS 21 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 11 fertilized 7 frosties, 6 genetically normal December 5th FET with one perfect blast = BFN FET #2 = early February

Me too! I told DH do not open the fridge!! Maybe I need to buy a cooler tomorrow from costco in case.   We are in Long Island and our county is already considered a hurricane zone on good days.

  • I said the same thing! We have to evacuate and I was told to bring my valuables... to me this means the follistim in the fridge! I have icepacks ready incase the power goes out! Stay safe!!!

  • I talked to the pharmacist where I work, and he said that the literature states that Ovidrel is good for 30 days unrefrigerated. If that's the case, then why do I have to put it in the fridge at all??? Because I usually use it within two weeks of picking it up....anywho...just going to keep the fridge closed as much as possible.

It's good for a great deal longer refrigerated- and if your cycle gets canceled during monitoring the extra time would enable you to use the trigger next cycle instead.
