First sign of m/s at 11 weeks?

I am just over 11 weeks and have felt pretty lucky so far to have no morning sickness.  At week 7ish I felt very mildly nauseous and had a meat aversion but nothing too uncomfortable.

Today I was baking muffins and all of the sudden felt like I was going to vomit, ran to the bathroom and dry heaved for 10 minutes.

Isn't nausea supposed to begin subsiding right around now rather than gearing up for the first time?

Re: First sign of m/s at 11 weeks?

  • I'll be 13 weeks sunday and I was pretty much the same as you, lots of nausea but no actual vomiting...that was until last week. I spent about an hour and a half in the bathroom and I couldn't keep anything down, not even water. Hubby was ready to go to the emergency room, but I convinced him he had to wait until I wasn't keeping water down for at least 24 hours.

It eventually stopped, but my nausea has been getting steadily worse. I've been able to combat it by pretty much eating something around the clock. As long as I have something in my stomach I'm not throwing up...I don't know why its getting worse, but I know it happens for some people. I do have a prescription for Zofran from my dr. but I'm more a natural way kind of girl...My advice is to always have a snack around (eating high protein and high carb mix works best for me) and call the dr.

Hope you start feeling better soon!

  • For the most part, right there with ya'. This has been an absolutely terrible week. If you can, try eating some bland foods in small amounts often. drink water with lemon juice (the smell is soothing for nausea) and maybe even try ginger ale or sucking on a piece of crystalized giner (also soothing for nausea).
  • I have felt queasy pretty regularly but it has always been resolved by eating a couple of crackers. But the past few days it has definitely been worse for me too, and some days nothing helps.
  • At my 8 week check up my doctor said that m/s peaks between 8-12 weeks because your HCG levels are the highest and then it will start to go down around 13 weeks or so. I just started to feel crappier this week too. No food seems to sit well in my stomach at all......
