Moms and FB don't mix

So my sister is 10.5 wks pregnant and hasn't outed herself yet . . . and now my mom has done it for her on Facebook by posting the non-descript status "I'm going to be a grandma again!". . .

Lesson learned - my Mom cannot know early, and will not keep a secret.  So much for telling her anytime soon Embarrassed.  Guess she will find out at halloween.

 And on a related note, I've already got 1 text message, and DH has gotten 2 emails asking if we were pregnant after seeing my mom's post.  Thanks mom - now we have to lie to everyone on top of it.

    Oh no!!! So you and your sister are both preggers together, that's exciting! But yeah, that would be sooo frustrating having to lie to people about yours since it's so early. Ugh!!

    This is the reason why I disabled friends from posting on my wall. I don't need someone slipping. Also, this is why we're waiting to tell my ILs. Everyone and their mother would know within ten minutes.

    Yeah, I'm excited to be preggers with my sister - I can't wait to tell her.   The only bummer is that our plan to share maternity clothes won't work since we'll be fighting for them at the same time =).

    I told my mom to take it down - so hopefully my sis isn't too mad.  Its her second so she told family earlier already, but she hadn't FB outed herself yet, so I figured she'd want to spill the beans first.

    good point about blocking posts on FB - I might need to consider that.

    Your mom sounds like mine!  haha.  For that reason, we have not told her of her first grandchild yet....

    I would be livid but moms sometimes just don't get it. This is something my mom would do. How fun to be pregnant with your sister.

    How did you do this? I checked last night and I can't seem to find away to disable.

    Uuugh. I am worried about mine doing the same. I'm sorry that you have to lie to people about this though because of her judgement.

    I think my mom is avoiding FB entirely in protest of not being allowed to tell, which works for me.

    If someone asks if it's you, I wouldn't even say no necessarily, you could just remind people, "I have a sister..." or something to that effect.
