Infertility

my story (long)

Two wks ago I went out of state to donated my eggs. I was on Lupron, and Follistim.

Anyway; I went in for the egg retrieval, and was sent back to my hotel two hours after. Once I got in my room I took a nap for about 1 1/2 hrs-I woke up due to some pain in my upper back. This was around 12(noon). Around 6pm the pain was so bad I called the offices after hr ER number. I was given Tylenol 3-that did nothing. The pain just got worse and worse as time went on. The best way to describe the feeling is severe muscle spasms throughout my upper back (on the right), all around my ribs, and my abdomen was bloated, and hard. When I would get the "muscle spasms" it would take my breath away. The pain was so bad I had to sit up, I couldnt take a full breath-if I did it would trigger the pain. A few times I almost blacked out.  At midnight my mother-in-law was yelling at me over the phone to call my nurse back, that I had to go to the ER.

The nurse told me to call 911, that I had to be seen. I was freaking out, in a state alone and now having to go to the ER.

I was taken the the ER and my BP was 190/90. I was in the ER maybe 30mins and they were telling me that I was going to the OR, I was  internally bleeding!  I bled over 1 liter, and needed a blood transfusion.

I was told that my ovary had burst. They were able to fix it, and it will be okay Smile

I am 1 in 1,000,000

I am only telling my story bc I want you to know that it can happen, things can go wrong.

GL to you all, I wish this on no one Embarrassed

Re: my story (long)

  • I'm so sorry that this happened to you.  I'm glad that you were able to get to the hospital.  I'm very sorry that you had to go through something so traumatic by yourself.   I hope you feel better soon.

I also wanted to thank you for donating your eggs.  That's an amazing thing you did for someone.  Thank you!
