I just got the dreaded call from my OB's office saying that I do have gestational diabetes I had a feeling I was going to have it. I'm so bummed right now and worried about my LO. I've posted before about it, but I REALLY can't handle seeing blood or getting my finger pricked. I know it's lame and I'll have to do it but I'm just really scared about it all.
My first blood draw was 95 and it's supposed to be between 70 and 91, the second draw was completely normal, and the third draw was 164 and it's supposed to be between 70 and 162. My levels are barely elevated, which I guess is a good thing. At the same time, I'm upset I'm gonna have to go through all this crap for it being barely out of normal range. Not to mention, I'm sure all the supplies and everything are going to cost a fortune.
Re: Got the dreaded call-GTT results.
The good news is that it can often be controlled with diet & exercise. Are you going to meet with a nutritionist or a midwife whose specializes in diet?
The High Risk board has a lot of GD info over there.
My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09
My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11
Sorry to hear that, stay strong!
Just curious, did you have symptoms that made you think you were going to have it? If so, what were they?
Diabetes runs in my family and I also have PCOS.
