Did you feel that?

We just felt a tremor here in Wake Forest from an earthquake up in Virginia (5.8).  A little scary!  I wasn't expecting to deal with earthquakes here like I did in SoCal.

  • Felt it here too!! (N. Raleigh)

ETA: is anyone having cell phone issues? I can't connect with phone calls or send texts despite having plenty of signal. Wondering if the cell towers are jammed up with everyone trying to make calls...

  • Nothing here in RTP either, although my husband felt it like 5 miles up I-40, as did what seems like everyone else in Cary, Raleigh, and the other surrounding cities.

  • Just outside of Winston... and we definitely felt it.  I had no idea what in the world it was until I got online and saw that there had been an earthquake.

  • Felt it here in Concord.

But some people in my building didn't feel it.  Just depends what you were doing, etc.  Most of the people who didn't feel it were standing, we all felt it sitting.  ?

  • I'm near the Charlotte airport and we felt it at the office.  It was just enough for everyone to look around like what is that.
From miscarriages, a diagnosis of a bicornuate uterus, and fibroid removal surgery...It's been quite the journey but it was all well worth it. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Yep! Actually I was at my 'rents house and my mom and i were sitting on their double recliners and felt them shake and then heard what sounded/felt like something running around upstairs. We were kinda thrown and werent' sure what it was and my mom even peaked upstairs and then we were like hmm that was weird...and then I was on my ipod touch on the boards and saw the title to this post and I was like oh crap mom that was from an earthquake. Never in a million years would I have thought it was an earthquake!

  • Yep - our office building was swaying, and the water in the water cooler was sloshing like crazy. We evac'd our office before the administration decided to officially empty the building.
