Trying to Get Pregnant

For those who use/have used OPKs...

I haven't used them at all yet, and am wondering if I should give it a try.  I do not have my cycle length under control at this point, so really have no idea when I am going to O.  I've been TTC since February 2011, and have had 4 cycles - 1 coming off BCP, 1resulting in a pregnancy that miscarried, 1 weird one between MC and D&C, and 1 post D&C.... I've just started a new cycle and don't know if I should try OPKs.

Pros? Cons?(if any).  I read on the clear blue site that women with 41+ day cycles would start using them on CD12.   I think I may be one of those *lucky* women with longer cycles, but who knows because I haven't had a regular cycle since I was a teenager.

  • I would definitely use them, I really liked them TTC the 1st time. I had longer cycles, 36-40 days, and I wouldn't have ever known when I was O-ing if I didn't use OPKs.12 DPO would work and I also suggest temping to confirm O.

  • I really like them.  Makes me feel like I have some sort of control and I like to know what my body is doing.

  • I'm trying them out for the first time this month. So far I like them because DH works nights I work during the day so timing can be challenging sometimes. But with OPK I'm feeling less stressed about when my fertile window is/will be.

I use IC opk's and I love them. I have a 28-30 day cycle and usually O between CD 15-17 but I like the "O warning" I get with my OPK fade in pattern. I would suggest you start off with IC's and using CBE for confirmation.

I can't find IC's in Canada! Amazon.com won't ship them out of the US and Amazon.ca doesn't have them. Boo!
