    10 DPO is the earliest.  Under the newbie link, there's a list of dpos and how accurate testing is on each.

    Earliest I would test is maybe 12dpo.  Most people will tell you to wait until 14dpo though.  Are you charting?  Fertility Friend is a great resource...click any of our tickers to get signed up.

    The absolute earliest I would test is 10dpo.  I mean to try to hold off until later, but since my LP is usually 10 days, I usually don't make it that long.  So I pee on a cheapie at 10dpo, it's always negative, and I usually get my period the next day.

    13. My LP is 12 days and I usually spot for two days before.  If I get to 13 DPO, the day that my period should start, without spotting... I would test.
    Began TTC #1 in January 2011
    Confirmation and Removal of Endo - March 2012
    +#1 on 4/1/12 - m/c @ ~8w 5d
    +#2 Tx cycle 4 - 5 mg Letrozole + 75iu Follsitim & Ovidrel w/ IUI on 11/13/12 - EDD 7/23/13 
    7 week u/s revealed THREE babies, all with heartbeats.  153bpm, 148bpm, and 136bpm
    9 week u/s revealed loss of Baby B.  A and C are growing on track.  A measuring 9w1d with 172bpm and C measuring 9w0d with 179 bpm.  
    Elective sex determination u/s on 2/8 revealed... boy AND girl!

    This cycle I'm going to test at 9dpo.  I know that's early, but my last two cycles only had 9 day LPs.

    OP: Personally I don't test until the day after my longest ever cycle.  Oh and sometimes I'll test on special occasions, like if its my birthday and I'm about at that time anyway.

    I have been starting at 9 DPO, but I think if we are out for this cycle, then I will not be testing until AF is late.  BFN's bum me out

    I'm charting on FF....or should I say becoming obsessed with it. I was just curious. I am trying to stay strong and not poas before 12dpo. I'm 7dpo today.

    12, but if I had some IC's, I'd probably start at 10.  I don't want to waste the FRER and digitals I have now.  14 dpo is ideal!

    HrH33RN, I'm also 7dpo today, and newly obsessed with FF. I broke and poas today, which I know it totally ridiculous, I think the anticipation and waiting is driving my husband more crazy that me and he was super into me doing it today even though I kept explaining why it's basically impossible :) Needless to say BFN.

    FF says I should test on the 28th which is 11 dpo, i'm going to try to hold out until then.
