Small gift idea for 5 year old girl?

I'd like to buy a small gift for a friend's 5 year old daughter - something in the $5 range.  Any ideas?  If it were a 5 year old boy, I'd buy a small Lego set as that is what my son would love.  Thank you for the input!  :-)

  • dress up set that has a tiara and wand or legos or train set
  • Loading the player...
  • what about one of those cute chapstick or mini nailpolish sets? not sure if that is too mature for a 5 year old though!
  • step into reading books, a barbie, dress up stuff, dolls, stuffed animals. i wouldnt do make up , unless you know the parents standing on those kind of things. I would be ok with it, but i know some parents who are not.

  • How about some cool stickers?  I remember loving them myself and got some for a 4 yr old girl recently, she seemed happy!
  • Thanks ladies!  I've never met her before, but from the pics I've seen on FB, she looks very girly and into dress up.  I'll go to Target and see if I can find a small dress up gift.  I bet they have all their Halloween stuff out so there might be something there.
  • I was going to also suggest dress up stuff....coloring books/art supplies, any of the little figurine sets (like my little pony, etc).

Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

  • Gabby's 5.  She really likes pens, pencils, water colors, paper, stickers, hole punches, glue sticks, glitter.
