Pelvic pain, sore inner thighs, pressure on vagina

Anyone feeling this? Gosh, it's getting worse for me. Today I woke up with lots of pressure on my vagina (first time) and it gets worse after I've been sitting or lying down. I know the baby must be head down now. I didn't feel this with my first dd because she never 'dropped' I'm assuming this pressure, pain is from her dropping? My inner things have been sore now for a couple weeks. I feel like I just did a vigorous thigh and vagina workout.

  • yes i think w/ each pregnancy you get more aches and pains and i've definitely felt a lot of inner thigh pain.  My legs actually have felt like they were going to give out on me a few times.  and i've had vag pain since 18wks or so, just alot of pressure.

This pregnancy has been different in those regards, this is my 3rd pregnancy.

  • Yep, I've had it now for probably a little more than a month. It takes a while before it stops hurting once I get up, especialy from bed in the morning! It's just the position of the baby. I know that my baby's head is really low and the docs say thats what is causing the pain. They said the baby hasn't dropped yet though...which sort of confuses meTongue Tied. I know it sounds weird but a hot pack between the legs helps ease the pain!

  • This is my first pregnancy, and i've had this since about 20 weeks, but its getting much worse. Seems to be REALLY bad after walking more than a few minutes, and especially the next day. Also, my little guy is breech and hasn't dropped so I dont think it is relative to them dropping.

I've done some research and all I can find to help with it is ice, and always sleeping with a pillow between your legs. Getting out of bed in the morning is the worst! Sorry you're suffering!

  • While I'm not glad to hear that you are experiencing this, I am glad to hear that I am not the only one!  There are times it feels like I did the thigh master workout in my vagina.  I've mentioned it to my doctor, and tried to explain in as much detail as possible, and he said it's round ligament pain.  He suggested that I try swimming as much as possible to relieve the pressure.  While the swimming helps a bit, I still have the pressure in my upper thighs and vagina.
  • yes. Not a comfortable feeling.

  • Yes.  I started having this about a week ago and it has gotten progressively worse.  Like a dummy, I decided to get on the treadmill last night for a little jog.  (I have been dying to jog since I haven't in awhile out of laziness)  Awful idea.  Now I have a lot more pressure/soreness.  I guess it's just walking and bumming around until the baby comes.  My belly appears to be in the same position.  I don't know that I have "dropped" per se.

  • Yep - it's terrible when I wake up in the morning. However, I know LO is breech, although her feet are always pounding away at my cervix, and up high, so I'm not sure that it's necessarily related to baby position. I think part of it is just the pelvis loosening up and causing ligamentous pain. Either way - it is really awful!
    Waiting for #3!

I woke up with this the day I turned 29 weeks. I called my mom in a panic while waiting for the OB to call back. My lady parts felt like they did after the first time I took spinning! It is painful.

I find ice and tylenol help...my understanding from my mom and OB is that it is the connections between the pelvic bones softening/relaxing to allow the baby to come out.

I also do find that if a few times a day I can get down on all fours that helps, and child's pose helps too.

  • Thank you ladies for your input. I was hoping all this pain meant the baby was low and had dropped, which in turn meant a quick labor! I guess that's just wishful thinking. My first one took 27 hrs to arrive so I'm just hoping this one is a short labor. I will try a hot pack.

The worse is in the middle of the night and I get up to pee and my vagina feels like its going to fall out. I actually have to hold it! hahaha..
