Do you let your toddler sleep as long as they want in the morning/nap or do you wake them up to keep them on schedule.
DD is still sleeping and I know if she sleeps any longer she won't take her good 2 hour nap in the PM....but I also hate to wake her up! What do you do in your house?

Depending on our schedule (dropping off DD at school, picking up) I have to wake DS up if he sleeps in in the morning and from his nap sometimes.
Other than that, I never wake him in the morning, but I will get him up from his nap at 4-4:30 pm (regardless of when he went to sleep) so it won't mess up bedtime.
i make my nanny wake him up at 8 and if it's the weekend i let him sleep (but for some reason he wakes up at 6am on the weekends and my nanny has a hard time waking him up at 8 -grr)
I also have her wake him up from his naps, otherwise he'll sleep for 4 hours and then is a nightmare at night. by waking him up and controlling his naps, he STTN..
On the weekends we let him sleep in (this weekend he slept till 945am yay!) but on weekdays I have to have him up by 6:30 so we can be out the door at 7:10.We are all MUCH happier if we are all able to sleep in.
For naps on the weekend, I have him up by 4:30 if he's not up already, otherwise he'll be messed up for bedtime. I hate doing this though b/c he ends up miserable!! The sitter I believe wakes him up from his nap if it appears to be going too long (he goes down around 12:30 there and is up around 2:30 normally)
Pretty much this. I only wake him up if we really need to go somewhere, or if his last nap threatens ruining bedtime.

Typically in the morning I will let her sleep as long as she needs. Then, I just make sure she gets a lot of play time, and she will not have a problem going down for nap. That's just my DD though. If yours won't take her PM nap, then I might consider waking her up.
That said, I will wake her up if her PM nap lasts until 5 p.m. because I want to make sure she's nice and ready for bed at her usual 7:30 p.m.
