FTR - amazing talk with SIL

I just wanted to update for those who gave me the advice about SIL.

I had an amazing talk with SIL. She is so super stoked that H and I are TTC. She likes that since we are trying at the same time, even though it might not happen at the same time, kids will still wind up being close enough in age.

I let her do all of the initial talking. She told me lots of things that I already know and she told me what she had been through. She is super knowledgeable, and I always knew she was. My concern was if she was being monitored while on Clomid, only from what I learned from lovely bumpies, and she was. I didn't tell her about my concern until after she had told me she had been monitored. I told her that I had read that it was important. She said she was being monitored by her OB, but she had mentioned something about not feeling like she was monitored enough which is I think why she decided to see an RE. (I am not 100% sure, one of our phones were cutting out a bit while she was telling me all about that part.) I know that she is now looking into IUI with an RE and whatnot.

She kept reassuring me that 7 cycles is not too bad yet, and I kept reassuring her that I knew that and I wasn't to the point of concern for myself yet.

I didn't try to give her any advice, that was never my intention. I know that some ladies were worried about that. I just felt more comfortable asking her things, and I am sure she is more comfortable telling me things, knowing that we are TTC as well.

All in all, it was a spectacular talk. I am so glad that we are able to share this experience now. She of course told me that anytime I need to talk to just call or text.

Glad to hear that the talk went well. It is always nice to have someone other than the Lovely Bumpies to talk to about what we are all going through.

That's awesome! I am glad your talk with your SIL went well. Hopefully, the two of you will be able to use one another as support systems to confide in while you are TTC and when you both become wonderful parents.

It really was great. It was nice to let her in on the secret since the night before she had sent me a text about how H and I need to get moving on the baby-making front so that we do not have to worry about any IF testing and treatments. She has mentionted to us a few times in the past few months that she would like to see us start trying soon.

I started the conversation with that I wanted to talk to her about something, but I needed to request that she keeps it between us. I( am still wanting to surprise parents.) She said ok and asked what's up. I told her that we've been trying. She said ok, but I don't think it sunk in. When she realized what I was talking about, her voice changed to pure excitement. It was wonderful.

H said, that he had been texting her that afternoon, after he knew that I talked to her. He said that she conveyed the same excitement to him. That she told him how excited she is that our kids will be around the same age. That is important to her. She and H grew up with cousins the same age.

I am so glad that I have one more person, a person that knows me well, to talk to!
