Whenever I try to lightly stroke DD, she pulls away that part of her body like it's being tickled. Even if I increase the pressue/slow the speed so as to not "tickle".
Her skin is so soft, I love to stroke it, but it seems like she's not fan: "Hold me but don't touch me" She likes to be thwacked on her back (like during burping).
There is not place on her body where she will tolerate the stroking (even on her head).
Normal, or could she have sensory issues?

Re: Does your baby like to be stroked/petted?
Mine cringes when I do it, but I swear the harder I hit her on her back to burp her the happier she is...lol. Can't win.
H however strokes her face to get her to sleep and she doesn't seem to mind it, but I can't do that either...just H. Again, can't win.
Needless to say lotion time isn't fun time around here.
I think your LO is fine...it's just a personality thing.
This. We joke and say that Gabe "likes to be beat". They even joked about it in the NICU.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

I'm glad others are like this too! My parents seem to think I'm abusing my LO's whenever they're being burped. Trust me, we've tried softer patting and more firm "thwacking" (good word, lol) and the thwacking is what gets the burps out! Plus they love it and tend to fall asleep.
To answer OP (sorry), my LO's are okay with touch for the most part but DD can't stand having lotion put on, especially on her stomach for some reason. She does really like having her hair brushed though.
