Hey ladies! I saw a couple people mention that using a hair dryer really helped you recover from your c-section. What exactly did you do? We most likely will have a c-section so any tips would really help!
I used mine on low to dry my incision after a shower.
This. I did it to avoid a towel irritating it and to ensure that area was dry before getting dressed.
Other c/s "helpers": Enormous cotton granny panties (I still laugh when I think of how heinous mine were but they were lifesavers during recovery)--I bought them in the biggest size I could find and wore them up over my incision; mild soap like Cetaphil for keeping the incision area clean without irritating it; low-rise stretchy yoga pants (lived in mine from Old Navy)....Another thing I didn't do prior to the c/s (which i wasn't planning on having one) was to make sure everything that you'd have to reach up high for (i.e. your clothes in your closet, toiletries in high cabinets, etc) as well as anything heavy that you reg. use is within reach of you to avoid straining and over-stretching your incision site.
I didn't do the hair dryer thing but one thing I want to tell you is go get some control top panty hose and cut out the legs. I wore this once I got home and it made me feel AMAZING. I had such an easy recovery.

my incision wasn't healing - taking forever to heal (wasn't infected... just not healing up).... and once i started to blow it dry after showers- it started to heal! Keeipng it dry is VERY important - but was so hard to do in the summer under a big flap of fat
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
I didn't do that-but my c-section life saver was my c-panty. Its control top under wear (after baby I had a bit of loose skin-and it was less pressure on my incision) that has a silicone band where your incision is. It prevented my jeans from rubbing against it and it helped me fit into my pre preg pants!

I guess I got lucky, because I was pretty well healed before I even got home from the hospital. I do recommend wearing the belly band - they gave me one at the hospital and I wore it as long as I could.

It really helped me feel like everything was supported while healing. That and it kept my pants from rubbing against it. I would pull it down lower than what it is in the picture so the bottom wasnt on my incision. The high top control bottoms would probably do the same but I couldnt find any in a small.

I had never heard of the blow dryer thing before. I healed fine without it but I did make sure to dry it really well before getting dressed.
I think what helped me the most was buying a waist cincher/girdle like this
