Fisher Price Cradle n Swing speed

Hi there everyone-

We have the Fisher Price Cradle n Swing (My Little Lamb) and my daughter loves it (some people complain that the motor is too loud- she just sleeps right through it/ it seems to soothe her). My question is that the Pedi told us everything should be on the lowest/ slowest setting for now, but even the slowest setting seems a little extreme to me. Baby loves it, I suppose if she didn't she would let me know, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and if it is truly safe?  Thanks in advance!

Re: Fisher Price Cradle n Swing speed

  • It's perfectly safe.  My daughter was 7 weeks premature and started using it on the lowest speed when she was 3 weeks old (still a month premature).  The directions tell you to dangle a blanket from the swing, and that really does work to slow it down.  Just put a blanket underneath her bottom and let it "sway in the breeze" as the swing moves -- hanging down as far as possible.  My baby slept in that swing for months, and she's fine.  Greatest investment we made!

  • We used the lowest setting, but eventually had to crank it to the highest setting for our little daredevil.  It's safe - you have to strap them in there!

  • Thanks ladies! She's in it now Smile

  • That's funny because on the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD Dr. Karp recommends using the highest speed to help calm baby. The highest speed is all we've use since she was 1 month. We have the snugabunny (same as the lamb). She is fine with the highest speed so your LO should be fine with the lowest.
