I have a mix of FB and Kawaii pockets...lately they have been leaking- at first I thought it was user error but it's happening frequently so I'm thinking the diaper might be repelling. How do you know? I trickled some water on them and it just sat on top. I did it with my organic cotton ones and it was absorbed.
Do you think I need to strip them? I've only been using them for 3 mo and I was in RnG. If so, how do I strip them.
TIA ladies!
ETA They do not stink. At least I don't think they do. I would know, right?
Re: Microfleece repelling?
I would say stripping would be good... wash them like normal (if they're dirty) and then follow up with lots of hot cycles (no detergent). I'm talking 5-6 hot/warm cycles...
You can also rock a soak, but be careful not to soak the pockets too long (or too often) because I think it can damage PUL.
Microfleece takes some time and compression to absorb, so it may look like repelling is the issue but it might not be.
Try again and let them sit/press the water into the MF.
If it absorbs, then it could be that LO is holding their pee and letting it go all at once. Or it could be compression leaks if you're using microfiber inserts.
