I think I'm in shock.....I just set myself up that it wouldn't happen right away, so I thought this moment wouldn't come for at least a few more months of 'trying.' I can't believe it!! ![]()
I've made my first appt with the doctor, which isn't until December 1st. I feel like I should be doing something between now and then.....Any advice? Books to start reading? What should I expect for the first appointment? Or do I just sit and wait and the dr will tell me in December......
I used to post a lot on the Knot and Nest and all the girls there were so friendly and helpful....I'm looking forward to joining this new community!! ![]()
Re: New here....Got a BFP yesterday!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome and Congrats!
I bought the book What to Expect When You're Expecting. I love it so far.
Congrats & welcome! Some good books: What To Expect When You're Expecting, and Your Pregnancy Week by Week.
At my first appt. I got some general info from my Dr., asked some Q's, had a pap smear and an u/s.
Congrats and welcome! I'm reading What to Expect and also Your Pregnancy Week by Week- I like them both.
If you haven't already, pick up some prenatals
H&H 9 Months to you!!
Congrats!
Best pregnancy and birth book ever? Birthing From Within.
Yay!! Congratultions!!
I just got my BFP this morning
Between now and your first appointment: start taking prenatal vitamins. Your doctor may give you a prescription but until then you can just get OTC ones at the drugstore. Best advice? Relax. It's the best thing you can do for your baby.
The most helpful book I had in my first pregnancy was The Mother of all Pregnancy Books.

"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
Congrats! I know what you mean about that feeling that you should be doing something, even though there's really nothing to do.
I got the Mayo Clinic book on pregnancy (can't remember the title but it'll come up if you search on Amazon)--I really like it but it's not a very chatty tone, so if you're more into that get one of the others. I also got a pregnancy and nutrition book (to help my "doing something" mentality).
