Nipple sizes (for bottles, not your own!)

The bottle feeding post reminded me that I've been wondering when to change nipple sizes when I give DD a bottle. She's still using the 0+ month nips and while I was going through some stuff to use later down the road, I found the other ones I have: 3+, 6+, etc. She seems to do just fine with 0+ and I thought I remembered seeing that that size is good for BF babies since it has the slowest flow and wouldn't encourage laziness/frustration at the breast when LO has to suck harder to get something. What size are you using? When will/did you change?

    Sorry, I just thought your title was funny, it made me lol!!  I never changed DS from a size one because of his acid reflux.  I am using the parents choice bottles from Wal-mart and they are great and it doesn't leak.  Good luck and thanks for the smiles today.

    Avent has a size 1 (0+ months) and size 2 (1+ months). It doesnt look like there is much difference between the 2 so we use a mix of both sizes since we registered and received both.

    We actually just switched to preemie nipples (DD is BF). She was getting through 3 oz in less than 10 min on the size ones and then it was making her fussier on the breast because I have a pretty slow letdown.

    Oh, and I never liked the Avent with DS.  He would drink then throw up everywhere.  It was awful.  It was how we ended up with Dr. Browns.  I wished they would have worked this time but we are loving the Parents Choice.

    We'll probably stick with the slow-flow (0+ mo) unless LO gets really annoyed at them. My letdown is relatively fast, but if he tolerates the slow nipple I'd rather him not get used to the speedier ones!
