Hello ladies,
I have been lurking for awhile and doing a few posts on the IUI check-ins, and figured it was probably a good idea to introduce myself ![]()
DH and I have been on the IF journey since the beginning of this year, and started seeing an RE in May. He has been checked out and all is good with his boys so the problem comes down to me (AO). We just did our first IUI last month, and hoping to do #2 this month. My RE had to switch me from Clomid to Tamoxifen due to side effects & lack of response...just curious if anyone else is using Tamoxifen?
Hoping to find more time to come on the boards, since I find it very comforting. (once I figure out all the lingo!) Thinking I need to check into a local Resolve group too...
GL to everyone!
Re: Long overdue intro...
Welcome to the board! I'm sure you will get the support and advice you need on here, the ladies on this board are great
I wish there was a Resolve group in my area
Stupid Delaware smallness
Just wanted to say welcome and chime in with my Tamoxifen story. This was before I went to the RE and started IUIs, but after all of my testing. I always had CM issues and my pre-ovulation u/s showed a borderline lining. So, the doc prescribed Tamoxifen. I had hot flashes, but not much else. I did 20mg the first month and 30mg the next two. It made a big difference in my 7dpo progesterone levels, which were also borderline. It worked on month three, but I had a natural miscarriage early in my first trimester. But, don't worry, they say the Tamoxifen had nothing to do with the loss. With my first IUI, I did 25mg of Clomid. It really took a toll on my lining, so not a good match for me either. I've been on Follistim ever since.
Anyways, I liked Tamoxifen. Other than the hot flashes, it was okay. And, it did work (kinda)! I had a really hard time finding other women who used it, but my OB/GYN at the time said more people feel comfortable with Clomid because it has more research to back it up. I hope you have success (and very few side effects)! Good luck
