Is your DH coming to your first appt?

My first appt isnt until I am 8 weeks along (Sept 14).

I believe thats when they are giving me the first ultrasound.

Is your DH goign to the first appt with you? I told mine to put the date aside and that I want him there with me.

Absolutely! It is our first baby and we tried for 18 months so he's just as excited for all the milestones as I am.

Everyone told me that my first appt was going to be like a regular OB exam, so I relayed this info on to my DH. He insisted on going with me anyway, even if he sits in the waiting room. If they do an u/s, I definitely want him there to share in the experience with me, I know he'd be bummed, as would I, if he wasn't there.

I personally want my H with me at each appointment. He's off midweek so I'll be scheduling all our appointments around his schedule.

We're in this together so I feel he should be there!

Mine came with me yesterday. I didn't know if I'd get an ultrasound or not, but he wanted to be there. It's our first baby. They did a u/s and he got so nervous when they called him in to the room. Thought something was wrong poor thing! All looks good!

Yes definitely!! Ours is tomorrow, ultrasound and all <: sh*t I'm scared!! hahaha We knew it would be a hard road because of my history. Blessed that IVF #1 worked so far so he wouldn't miss it for the world.

Same - but he'll definitely be there for the u/s. If I can give a piece of advice - watch his face when you first hear/see the hb. It was the most amazing thing ever to see him react!

No, mine didn't come for the first appt. I knew that we wouldn't be doing anything but confirming the pregnancy. He is coming for the next one to hear the heartbeat, but probably won't come to any other ones unless we're getting an ultrasound.

Yes! He will come to every appointment. With my last preg, he was with me everytime. And the last appointment I had, he wasn't going to be able to make it, since he had exams (he's a teacher), but I told him he HAD to go. I'm so glad he did, because that was the u/s we found out our baby passed away. After going through that, I can't imagine him not coming with me. I couldn't imagine going through something like that again and being alone. So yes, he will be at every appointment - even the "boring" ones! :-)

Yes because we are having our first ultrasound. I told DH that he only needs to come to important Dr. appointments.

Yes, they told us we're having an ultrasound at 8 weeks, and we'll have time set aside to talk to the doctor, they told us the appt would last an hour and a half, so whatever info they're giving us he'll want to be there! I know he has questions to ask as much as I do.

Yes he is! I will only be 7 weeks, but I want him there to help with the health history and hear from the doctor about pregnancy since it is our first. We will also learn about the costs and everything and he is big on that stuff haha! But after that he will likely only go when I have ultrasounds.

DH came to u/s but not routine appts. I would make sure you're getting one because if not, he'll be there to watch you pee in a cup and get your blood pressure taken

Mine didn't come with me yesterday because I was told last Thursday that I wouldn't be getting an U/S. So he missed our first U/S, Sad

He will be at my appointments from now on!!

DH isn't coming to my first appt, because it is just a consult with the NP. He will go to the first U/S though.

Yes, but only because we are supposed to see the heartbeat. He didn't come to my first appt last time, because there was no u/s (and it would have been too early for the heartbeat anyway).

At the first appt, they're doing an u/s, so he'll be coming with. I told him that he doesn't have to come to any appts besides the ones where they'll be doing an u/s.

Unfortunately no he will be gone hunting it bums me out but my sister just agreed to go with me so that will be better than going alone and I have to wait until 8 weeks as well

Yes, my husband really enjoyed the appointment. What Dad wouldn't want to see the baby's first ultrasound?!?

The history/interview was a bit long, but they asked a lot of questions pertaining to family history and other possible genetic issues. I was glad to have my DH there to answer those questions.

He is coming to the first appointment, but only plans on being in the room with me during the ultrasound. They are doing the ultrasound first and then after that he is going to the waiting room.

Yes. This is his first so he plans on going to every appointment with me. I told him he didn't have to go to all of them if he didn't want to, but he told me there is no way he'd miss a minute of it (which I thought was super sweet). I have no clue what to expect at my 1st appointment since this is a different state and practice than what I used with my daughter but I'm hoping we at least hear the heartbeat.

Mine is coming with me to ALL appointments, he says right now ;-) We'll see if that happens throughout the 9 months! But yes, I have my FIRST appt on Tuesday and then another appt a week after that! He said he's coming to both!

Even though I was told my first appt. is with the N/P (on Monday) and will not include and U/S, DH is coming. I'm secretly hoping to get an U/S and would want him there. If not it'll be good to have him there to hear all the orientation type information and ask questions. He's also planned to get off work for a couple of hours to come to the NT scan in Sept since we'll get an U/S. After that, I'll leave it up to him if he wants to come to future appointments or just the U/S appointments.

He's coming to our first appointment next Friday (soooo far awayyyyy) and then we'll decide from there. Probably only to the other ultrasound appointments after that.

Same here, DH is coming next Thursday because we are getting an ultrasound. Plus I'd like him to be there for the family history part. He's sometimes not very reliable with information like that so I plan on quizzing his mother beforehand to make sure we're not missing anything. I can't wait!!

Mine did. It wasn't anything other than a urine test and a pelvic exam, but I want him there at every appointment (and he wants to be there too). Plus, I figure he's in this just as much as I am!

Yes, he will be there. He has a lot of questions, and I don't think it will feel real for him until he hears the heartbeat.

DH and I have talked about it from the get go ? he wants to be at all the appointments as long as he?s not at work. Luckily our Dr.s office has late hours on Tues. and Thursdays so that?s when we are going to try to get all of our appointments. My first appointment isn?t until week 8 ? so I?m not sure if we will be getting a u/s or not.

DH cannot take off work AT ALL! Which I personally think is crazy lol And I called the doctor today and they will probably do an u/s. I am hoping my best friend can come with me so that she can record it. But if not, I will record it by myself and make it work! Me and DH are very close. We literally do everything together so I am very bummed out by this...

Yup! He actually has off that day so it works out well. Not sure if he'll be able to make all appointments though. I would definitely want him there for all the ultrasounds and any other more important appointments.
