So, I'm cruising around on one of the extreme sites for the GCDH and come across a figure on the cloth wipes section of one of these sites. It claims that you'll spend approximately $800 (!) on disposable wipes from birth to potty training. It then says this is based on the average family going through 3 boxes a week at $2.50 a box. Does that seem kind of ridiculously high to anyone but me?
Don't get me wrong; I'm all for cloth wipes (and diapers)--it's what we do. But that number seems a bit inflated and misleading. Even in the newborn stage when my EBF DD was pooing all the time, I can't imagine going through 3 tubs of wipes a week.
Just a thought ![]()
Re: Cost of disposable wipes
In almost 6 months, we've used exactly 15 refill packs of wipes.
I only know this because we buy in bulk and we've only bought 2 cases, and our 2nd case still has 5 bags in it.

In four months we've spent $30. If she potty trains at 2.5 (that's 30 months), we would only spend $225 total.
There's no way we could ever spend $800 on wipes.
