Have you been drinking alcohol this pregnancy? Please, no additional comments, flames or "there was Bailey's in my tiramisu" stories. There is no SS. Just answer!
I'll 'fess up and probably sound like the lone alcoholic in the group, but part of my reason for being totally dry this pregnancy is not some holier-than-thou notion that even a drop of alcohol will hurt my baby, but merely that I'm mildly afraid that it will taste SO GOOD that having one glass only every couple of weeks will feel like torture once I've gone done that garden path.

I get where you are coming from. I am the same way. But in all honesty, a small glass is PLENTY for me while pregnant. You do feel the effects faster and it really tastes good to start, but I don't feel the "need" for more. In fact, I can normally finish a good glass of wine embarrassingly quickly, but while pregnant, it can take me an hour or more to finish a small glass and I am more than content with that.

I feel the same way. If I just have a sip/glass of a beer or wine, I'm afraid I will be really tempted to drink more. I'm not an alcoholic, I just like the taste. It'd be like saying I can only have 1 M&M a day and have to stare at the open bag that is just mocking me. For me, it's just easier to completely stay away vs. giving in a bit.

I have no problem with it. In social settings, if we have people over for dinner, if we're at a wedding, I will have a glass of wine. I've probably had 5 glasses total since 27 weeks (I'm 32.5 weeks now).

Yeah, I've been having an occasional ~2oz of wine in a port glass (which are much smaller than normal wine glasses) and it makes it both feel like a lot more, and easier to savor.

My sister said this and I thought I'd agree, but actually I've found the 1/3 glass of beer or wine that I've had here and there to be totally satisfying. I have a kiddie cup (seriously, it has a picture of an animal on the side and the word GRUNT but it's the smallest glass I own!) and DH gives me a small pour when he's drinking something nice with dinner. Often I don't even finish it. I've been surprised at how satisfied I've been with just a little. The taste is so good with food!
Does having the wine at communion count? I have actually been pretty good about taking the grape juice, but this past weekend I just forgot and grabbed the wine cup!
Other than that, it just hasn't been a priority for me and easy enough not too. Although this past weekend we had a BBQ and everyone was drinking shandys (beer & lemonade) and I wanted one!
Just a few sips here and there of wine. I think the most I had was 5 sips in an hour. I literally counted. LOL I just can't bring myself to allowing a half or even full glass, but definitely do not judge those who do!
I've had 2 sips of DH's wine and a sip of his beer and this past Saturday I had half a glass of champagne at a wedding. I'm a wine drinker normally, but the thought and smell of it has actually been a little nauseating, so it hasn't been that hard. However, I really didn't want to give the Corona back, it tasted so good!
I've had a rumchata and milk, a couple Malibu and cranberries (like that counts as alcohol lol) a Mikes Hard pink lemonade, a couple small sangrias and champagne on special occasions. Between doing my own research, speaking with my OB, and the fact that I drank heavily and frequently in my first tri with E before knowing I was pregnant and him having no ill effects, I feel comfortable with an occasional glass.
Less than 8 hours before I was born, my mom was drinking Cold Duck. She said I was by far the easiest of her 3 natural drug free labors....
I don't drink very often non-pregnant, so I haven't had a drop. That doesn't mean I haven't wanted to drink, but it is is one sacrifice I am willing to make. Ice cream? not so much!

If they were size of MY sips, it'd be a whole glass. LOL.
Re: Drinking while pregnant (clicky)
Every once in a while I take a sip on DH's ice cold IPA. SO GOOD!

due to my medical condition, I rarely drink when not pregnant, so I havent drank at all during this pregnancy either.
but it isnt a pregnancy sacrifice.
