Trying to Get Pregnant

Have you ever been "gaulded"? NTTGPR

I didn't even know what this was and now I do. I usually don't wear tampons until the very end of my cycle or when I run. Well, I ran out of tampons and I?m spotting lightly so I decided to use a pad...big freggin mistake. Apparently, the heat from summer and the sweat and whatnot rubbed me freggin raw. I flipped because I didn't know what it was and called my mom. She came over and took one look and said "yep, that a gaulding" to that I said " what the hell is a gaulding"...after some explanation she basically said its a rubbing on skin or between skin folds and yep it hurts like hell. I can't wear any panties or shorts. Thank God for maxi dresses. She is suggesting that I use cornstarch in a sock and pat it on the "affected" area and that it will help along with diaper rash cream for the discomfort. UGGGGGG!!!!! I hate my life right now and I have no idea how to explain this to my DH..I can only imagine the what the look on his face will be when he get home and sees me legs in the air fan between my legs  covered in cornstarch LOL!

  • Wow, that sounds really painful! Sad I've never heard of being "gaulded" but I generally only use tampons.

  • Did you wear the pad running or something?  How could it chafe you that much just from normal wear?  I mean, it's hot here, but that's never happened to me before.  Then again, I haven't worn a pad in years.  Sorry you have to go through this!  That has to suck.

Yep, wore a pad and ran...and no this has NEVER happened to me before. I guess the dryweave got damp from sweat and rubbed me raw...HORRIBLE!

There's a big difference between my mom changing my diaper as an infant and telling me about my first period and inspecting my lady bits for chafing. Gross. I wouldn't even ask my husband to do that. I have hand mirrors and basic knowledge of what chafing looks like. No need to call my mom.

  • I've never had it but my DH has very sensitive skin and he gets it all the time in his crack because he sweats in the ACUs. I feel so bad for him and he said its painful. Also, when it dries up its just scabs. I'm sorry that you have to go through this. It must suck. Try non-scented powder and it should help dry it up so it doesn't get worse.

  • Yikes!  I've never had that happen before, nor have I even heard of it!  I don't use tampons at all; only Always pads, both dry-weave and the new kind, and have no complaints.  I grew up in a very hot climate also and never had an issue.  I wonder if you have sensitive skin or an allergy to something in the pad or adhesive.

I've never been able to use tampons.  I've tried every brand and tried inserting them a million different ways, but I can always feel them and have so much pain and discomfort that I gave up.

And I agree with the PP...I would never, in a million years, call up my mom to check out an issue with my lady parts!  That would be my DH's department.

You've set his expectations too high. No husband should be that confident that his wife isn't going to sell him out. Mine is resigned to the fact that on the M4M section of Detroit Craigslist, there are photos of his peen which were taken by me as he was getting out of the shower, accompanied by a solicitation for anonymous park public restroom sex.
