I am so mad! DH, DS and I went to a bar for dinner. It's a cute hole in the wall joint that serves good beer. Anyways, LO was hungry so I started nursing him. I kept getting dirty looks from all these people and eventually the manager came over. He asked me to leave! He said I was "disturbing his customers." Seriously? It's a bar with far more disturbing people than my nursing baby. We will not go back! I'm so mad!

Well to be fair, if it was a true bar for 21+, they can ask you to leave if you have a baby with you. But if they were fine with you there as customers up to that point, that is shiitty. File a complaint with the bbb. Were you discreet? Not that you should have to be, but some people get easily freaked out.

Ok but here's the thing about nursing in public: It doesn't matter what you think. It doesn't matter if YOU think it is or is not a problem. She is allowed to nurse anywhere she is legally allowed to be, and obviously she was legally allowed to be in the bar/restaurant.

That just makes us look crazy. I hate nurse-ins, they accomplish nothing.

When someone asks you to leave, say "No thank you. I'm fine here" If they insist, tell them that the law is actually on your side, and again, "No thanks, I'm fine here." Repeat. Then tell all your mom friends to avoid the place.
