I asked this on my birth month board too but for a broader group - here goes. When did/do you plan in introducing a sippy cup? Any types you think are best would be good too! TIA!

We started with DD1 around 6 mos. I had the best luck starting with the nuby cup with the soft silicone spout. She just didn't take to any others at first but would take just about anything by one. My plans are the same for DD2.

We started B on a sippy cup a week before he turned 6 months. We have 2 that we use the Tommee Tippee beginner cup and Nuk. He likes the TT because it's easier to drink out of, but it doesn't have handles so its harder for him to handle. The Nuk is good and has handles but he's just starting to get the water out when he drinks. I only give it to him after meals to practice with.

I started letting him play with them at 4-5 months and he loved it and used them properly. I had given him regular cups during bathtime which he liked playing with too and it was hilarious to see him putting the cup towards his mouth and it was nearly the size of his head.
I have given him them twice since he turned 6 months with a little bit of formula in it. He has no issue holding them but he doesnt seem to get much in his mouth. The formula runs down his chin and on his clothes. They are the NUK brand and so far sippy cups are irritating me. I have thought about trying an actual cup with him once he can sit up with out help since he tends to prefer to play with them over sippy cups. Ive read some babies like them more and if you dont mind a little mess here and there its a good idea to try. I plan on doing that and just putting a very small amount of formula or pedilyte in it for him to try.
My DD has been trying and gotten really good at a leaned back angle of holding her bottle. So I decided to try a sippy cup. I found a cup at Target made by Nuk that is a no spill and is made for 6 months and up. Well I gave it to her to try and she is awesome with it. She grabs it with both hands and lifts it up to her mouth and feeds herself. She turns 5 months tomorrow. She doesn't quite get that she needs to tilt it up further to get the rest, but I'm super proud of her for doing so much this quickly. She also will reach out for the spoon when feeding her as if to try and feed herself.
I had thought to wait until 6 months, when we plan to introduce solids, but she's already trying (and managing much of the time) to hold her bottle, so I think we'll go ahead and let her play with one in the next few weeks.
I doubt she'll be overly successful at it, but I don't see the harm.
I introduced a sippy cup last week. I put a little BM in it and give it to her after her rice cereal/purees. I *think* it is a Munchkin brand sippy and it has a soft silicone spout. She holds it well (it has handles), but doesn't quite get you have to tip it up to be able to drink from it.

We won't do it until my baby is much older, but only because she is EBF and there isn't a need for her to have it right now. Once I introduce other fluids I will consider the sippy.
We started about 2 weeks ago. She just this last week started doing pretty good with drinking a couple oz of EBM from it. We like the Tommee Tippee training cup the best. She does spill all over the front of herself - but since she started refusing a bottle, this is the only way someone other than me can give her some milk.
My mom bought LO one when he was really young and I just started using it the last few weeks with a couple ounces of water. It's fun for him and he grabs the handles pretty well. The loose rule is that we don't hold it for him; he's gotta get it to his mouth and hold it up if he wants it. Most of the time, he'll get a good suck on it for a few seconds and then drop it and we're on to something else. I didn't know there was an appropriate age range to wait for.

We are going to start at six months. I read this article on sippy cups and thought it was interesting.
