We are on vacation this week at the beach. We're staying in a huge campground with lots of kids/teens. My 16 yr old has been very helpful with the 4yr old. He loves his little brother but has helped more than usual. Today on the beach I witnessed why. Ds1 offered to walk with ds2 while I relaxed. So I watched while I relaxed. He was totally using his little bro to meet girls. It was hilarious! Ds2 loved every bit of it himself. When I called out ds1 on it he laughed. He said "hey there are some benefits to this split up family thing. Maybe next year I can use the new baby too!" This was also the first positive comment about the new baby. At least we're inching in the right direction.
