Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Has anyone's baby just quit formula cold turkey?

It is like he suddenly realized it is nasty.  Not that I blame him.  I have not gotten a drop into him since mid-day on Friday.  We added in more solids and he has been getting whole milk since about a week ago, but I worry about this.  I texted his pediatrician, but have not heard back yet.

  • Z kind of quit nursing cold turkey and would not drink formula.  He let it all run down his chin.

I tried pumping for awhile, but without him nursing I dried up really quick.

He has been on cow's milk for 2 months now and is doing beautifully.  However, I would definitely okay it with the doctor...which you are waiting on.

  • Zoey quit cold turkey at 8 months on the dot...pedi said it was ok!
  • I am in the same boat.  He won't sip out or a sippy cup either. (recs??).  I always try to offer the bottle when I know he is hungry but he won't take it, he would rather starve.  But then I end up feeding him solids so he knows.  Ugh.  He will take it in the middle of the night or before nap and bed so I guess he is getting some.  Should I try cows milk in the bottle?  I didn't want to but he needs something....

  • Yes. DS dropped formula a few weeks ago. I just offer plenty to eat and drink (milk/water) and give vitamins as an insurance policy. I do flavor his water with a but of juice to make sure he gets enough fluids. He self limits his milk to 12-15 ozs
