I'm just wondering if anyone subscribes to the Our Kids newsletter and whether it's worth it. It costs $26 per year which is pretty steep. Since I work Mon-Thurs, the only activities I could do are the ones on Fri-Sun. Also, my daughter is 2 so I would only be able to do things geared towards little kids. However, I was thinking of doing it because I usually try to plan at least one interesting family activity each weekend. So, I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me. Any thoughts?
Re: S/O Activities - Anyone subscribe to the Our-Kids newsletter?
Even though its only a couple of dollars a month, I don't feel like it has been worth it to me. My oldest just turned 2 and I feel like a lot of the ideas are for older kids.
There are 2 blogs that I love for ideas, No Monsters in my Bed, https://bedtimemonsters.blogspot.com/, and KidFriendly DC, https://kidfriendlydc.com/, that are free and have lots of reviews and lots of ideas. I especially love the compilations of indoor and outdoor activities on those sites. I have one day off each week and have gotten lots of ideas from those sites. In addition, they let me know what is going on as far as festivals, etc., for the weekends.
I do love Our Kids for the consignment sale and preschool information, but that information is free.
Our Kids offers a free sample newsletter on their site which may help you decide if it would be useful to you: https://www.our-kids.com/site/whyok/
Sorry--no idea how to do clicky links.
I looked into it when DD #1 was born, and I think I even subscribed, but at that time since she was just a baby I realized I should have waited until I had older kids. Hmmmm... makes me think I should look into it again now that I have my three kiddos.
Though I do vaguely remember seeing that a lot of the activities you're paying to find out about are during weekdays, and I remember sort of questioning whether the paid service was useful for working moms. Hmmmm.
