Going to bite someone's head off.

Raging hormones! Some people say the most rediculous things! I'm a receptionist and a client just came in and asked for my co-worker, who happens to be on vacation today. When I told her she wasn't here and asked if I could help her, she said "well, ***. Probably not." I bit my tongue and helped her anyways, just as well as my co-worker could have.

The other day I was talking to my little sister on the phone about my gender-reveal get together of close friends and family and her and her friend were giggling saying "that's gay. I can't believe you're having a party for it. What a waste of money. It's like when you sent save the dates to your wedding." I promptly told her if she thinks it's gay then she doesn't have to come and hung up on her. Then I bawled my eyes out for 30 minutes on the bed with DH rubbing my back.

I don't want to even go into how my co-worker has been acting this week.

  • Ughh, I HATE when people say 'that's so gay' for something that is stupid/dumb. So ignorant. Hugs.

  • Thanks for the hugs. Are you guys super-sensitive to what people around you are saying or am I just being overly touchy?

  • This is the one nice thing about have #3. People don't care about me anymore. They don't say anything...except maybe for how hard it's going to be with 3.

They pretty much act like I am not pg at all. It's sort of sad sometimes. You want to feel special about having a baby, no matter what number it is. This is my last one so I am a bit more sensitive about it. I don't want them to get the dregs.

  • I'm sorry...that was extremely insensitive of her to say that.

Most definitely noted! I will make a stop at the grocery store on my way home to pick up the supplies! Thanks : )

I know what you mean and this is my first! I wonder if I could convince my dr to put me on bed rest just so I don't have to deal with the rudeness of other people. Wink

     Yes, can't stand this.

And on topic of OP, now that I'm pregnant, I find I have much less tolerance for the rudeness of others.  Maybe we are just more sensitive to this stuff because we are already worrying about this crazy world we are bringing our babies into?  It really scares me sometimes.  But no matter who says what, every time I feel LO move in my belly, all that crap people say goes away.  All that matters is this tiny little person I can't wait to meet.

I think about this quite often as well. The world is a scary place. I also agree about feeling LO move in my belly and all of that stuff just washes away. It's almost like a trance!

  • I was a receptionist too - and people were so rude!  You just have to tell yourself that it's not about you - they are just rude/mean people.

Re: the gender reveal party it just seems like your sister is immature.  People use all kind of excuses to throw parties, like Labor Day - why can't you have a party for gender reveal if that's what you want to do?
