Pishposh Mommy carryall

Hi all, I'm thinking about getting the Pishposh mommy diaper bag insert.  Instead of a diaper bag, I'm thinking of getting a large fashionable tote(thinking of a Michael Kors tote) and purchasing the insert to carry all off babies needs.  Has anyone used this insert?  Is it handy or large enough?  Before anyone recommends the diaper bags that don't look like the typical diaper bags, I've looked at them all and cannot see myself carrying any of those bags.  Plus I think they are pricey for something I will probably only carry for a few months, I much rather invest in a bag that I can see myself using on a regular basis.

  • First, I have no experience with the insert- sounds like a cool idea.

Second, I think you might be underestimating the length of time you will be utilizing the bag.  Your baby probably won't be potty trained until around 2.  So that's two years of carting not only diapers and wipes, but bibs, paci, snacks, meals, extra clothes, emergency toys, etc.  And personally, I feel like I've had to carry more things as DS gets older (specifically toys and snacks).  I'm not sure if this trend continues after potty training.  Just something to consider.

Congrats on your pregnancy!  H&H !

  • I don't use a diaper bag, I use a large purse like you mentioned.  I have 3 children.  A diaper bag is not essential.  I haven't used the pish posh mommy one, but I use a JJ cole diaper/wipes thing (I can put 5 diapers in it, 2 different sizes) and a thing of travel wipes and it comes with a diaper changing mat.  So I put that in my purse along with my nursing cover and a onesie for the baby and I have even put in two water cups and 2 snack traps.  Done.  When the baby starts eating foods, I have this small little thing that I stick the food and a bib and spoon in and put it in my purse too.  It all fits.  So go for it!  Oh and once Finn was potty trained, the only thing I carry for him is water and snack trap and that isn't all the time.

That is good to know!  (I know I've got a while to wait on this one)

  • Thanks for the responses ladies,  I know that I will be carting alot around for a while but I'm judging based on most of the people around me who carried baby bags, they ditched them within a few months and crammed everything into purses.  I'm not a baby bag girl and to be quite honest don't see why it's necessary to carry a "baby bag" and why a bag with lots of compartments won't do the trick.  The reason why I'm considering the insert is so that I can easily transfer all baby items from my bag to another when dropping baby off at Grandma.  I was curious to the size and also quality of the product, if it's worth the money.  Since this will be my first baby I'm been doing research and not buying too many items that won't be used.

  • And don't forget the ever precious times when DH takes the baby without you. Party!!!Party!!! We have a male friendly bag so there wouldn't be any excuses Stick out tongue

LOL yes, there will be those times.  I'm buying nothing too froo froo so he has no excuse.  I want him to just be able to slip it whatever bag he has and go and have no valid excuses lol.

  • I've not used this one, but I'm all for getting a large tote that you really like.  I too have found a big purse to be more useful. I keep everything in large ziploc baggies in my huge purse.  It makes everything so much easier.

I do have diaper bag that we used the beginning, but now we pretty much leave it in the car--it's always stocked and I just use it for diaper changes in the car.
