Baby Names

I can't believe the anxiety I am having over a name...

DS was easy because I liked 2 boy names and 2 girl names. If this baby, c-section on the 19th, is a girl we are all set. But if it is a boy we have NO NAME! We have gone through lists and books and can't agree but mostly it is just that there is no "feeling" there. There were 2 names I did like but posted them here and they got a poor response so I am not sure what to make of it all. This is so hard!

  • What about using the unused name from your first son?

I think she is saying she used both names on the first son

  • I know someone who has a son named Henry and they also have a Zavier, Carter, Jacob and Max. Do you like any of those?

  • Do you have some that you sort of like to give us an idea? I assume you like classic since your son has a beautiful class name.

    How about:

    Nathaniel

    Jonathan

    Christopher

    Samuel

    Max

    Alton

    William

    Finn

    Ryan

    Bennett

  • Ladies, thank you for your help! I do love classic names and all you have suggested are nice! We can't use our original boy name choice because since then close friends named their son that name...

Names we have been throwing around are Russell and Wayne. Wayne was my grandfather's name and my father's middle name and we don't know any Waynes but all feedback on websites is bad when I asked about the name! Russell is still on my mind but not the #1 thought...so it is hard.

Again, love your suggestions though. Also, I am a teacher and many names have been ruined for me!

I understand about the teacher thing. Every year there's a new list of names that I would never use. I actually like the name Wayne. There are several in my family. What's wrong with Russell Wayne? I love the nn Russ.

  • Jen- Thanks for the encouragement about Russell and Wayne! It is so hard to think that I will name my baby something and it will get a bad response so that helps. Still undecided but thanks!
  • If you're not sold on Russell, how about Ross? It's pretty uncommon these days and is very classic. I LOVE it; we have chosen another name for our boy but Ross came in a very close second and should I have a second boy in the future, this will be his name.

GL with your c-section next Friday! August birthday kiddos are awesome, mine is on the 25th! Wink

go with the names you like.  it doesnt matter if they arent the style that internet strangers prefer.  if you and your husband like them, and there isnt a huge problem with them , then thats all that matters

I like Russell (but depending on where you're from, it may be pronounced the same as wrestle!) What about Wyatt or Warren?

  • I live in the NE. The name will be pronounced properly! That is horrible but I can imagine many names are botched in some areas.
  • That is funny.  My 4 yr old is named Henry James too.  If we have a boy this time we are loving the name Jack. I know its used a lot but its classic and strong and sounds cute with Henry. IMO. :)  Good luck.

  • I really love the name Russell!
