This group is open to anyone who has Diminished Ovarian Reserve, Premature Ovarian Failure (sometimes also called Primary Ovarian Insufficiency - POI), or is of Advanced Maternal Age. 

 

This check-in will be posted each Wednesday.  If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message, and I?ll make sure to add you for next week.  Welcome to the lurkers!  We know this can be a difficult journey, but we welcome you with open arms.  Let us know if we can answer any questions.

    Hey all! I've decided to take another month off. AF showed up Saturday and I just wasn't ready to start again so I am not. Plus I have an impromptu trip to Florida right around the time that I'd probably be ovulating so thought it best to sit out another month.

    In the meantime I've been researching DE and and DEmbryo programs. I have a consult at the end of September with a DE clinic and have inquired at a few other places about DEmbryos. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

    QOTW: I'm out of questions right now, everything I've asked up to this point have been things I'm curious about with others' experiences, so any help is appreciated!

    Happy birthday tomorrow MrsMcIrish!  Welcome new members!  GL to those going through a cycle and doing tests.  Congrats to those success stories and big hugs to all who need it.

    Status Update: What is going on in your cycle or where are you in your process? Nothing new.  Still moving forward with IVF#4 scheduled for September.  I am having AMH tested first then will move forward with OE.

     

    QOTW: Are there any questions you'd like to ask here? A lot of the questions that have been posted here are basically derived from my curiosities since my diagnosis, so if there's anything you've been wanting to know please let me know here and I'll use it for future check-ins! I am curious as to what age everyone started their period.  I wonder if there is a link between an early onset menstral cycle and our diagnosis.  There may not be one but I know a while back, there seemed to be a trend with our cycle length.

    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.

    Update: Anxious and worried today - waiting to hear whether any of our 3 embies grew enough for transfer tomorrow.

    QOTW: Along the same lines as Delta - curious about others birth control methods prior to TTC. Wondering if there's any trends with not having used BCPs and DOR.

    TTC #1 since June 2010
    Me: 36, DH: 42
    Dx: DOR and MFI

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
    DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
    DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    Status: I'm at the end of a natural cycle.  I started spotting last Saturday and I'm still spotting.  AF hasn't come and I started having really bad cramps yesterday.  I just don't know why my body is ridiculous.  I even started debating whether or not I should move to another injectible cycle.  I feel like I need more of a break or maybe go back to Clomid for a month. 
    Me: 27, DH: 28 TTC since 11/09

    I'm about to ovulate, and even though I know its a HUGE long shot, I'm still not ready to let go of the idea we could get a BFP on our last natural cycle.  My SIS came back totally normal, so once AF shows, we'll start our first IUI.

    To answer PP's question, I started my period when I was 12 or 13 and before trying to get pregnant had been on birth control bills for the last 10 years.

    TTC since 5/2010
    DX with Diminished Ovarian Reserve - AMH of 1.1 - 7/2011; AMH of .42 8/2012    BFP 9/1/10-M/C confirmed 9/8/10-Methotrexate 10/6/10
    IUI #1 (w/clomid)-9/5/11-BFN ; IUI #2 (w/clomid)-10/5/11 - BFP - 11/1/12-No sac seen; 11/2/11 and 11/9/11-Methotrexate 
    IVF #1- ER 2/2; ET 2/5;-Two 8 cell embryos transfered = BFFN

    Hi!! Could I be added to your group? I just finished my first IVF, which was converted to an IUI=BFN. We've decided to take a few months off, put some resources into acupuncture and get a second opinion, before trying again around November.

     Questions I have:

    -What BC did women use? In addition to a PP's questions about no BC and DOR, I'm interested to know if my choice of BC has played any role in this.

    -Anything that has helped to raise AMH levels? 

    -Protocols that have been tried for IUI/IVF (successful or not!)

    2/11 Diagnosis: DOR-AMH .62, LPD and MFI-4% Morph
    IVF #1-July 2011 7/9/11-Started Stims
    7/20/11-ER:No eggs in 4/5 follicles. Left the 5th follie intact and converted to an IUI
    8/3/11-Beta #1=BFN,
    Nov, 2011 BFP #1=m/c at 7 wks 3 days
    11/11-AMH .47, IVF #2 March 2012...or not!! Surprise BFP on 2/19. Beta #1=161. Beta #2 305 Our little miracle girl is on her way! Due Oct 29, 2012

    First of all, please excuse any Typos that I may make. My computer needed to go to the doctor. so, I am typing from the iPad and I am not particularly good at it. Anyway, happy birthday to McIrish. congrats to those celebrating and for those of us still struggling, you are always in my thoughts. update: I have been on Stims since Saturday night, still have the patch on because it hasn't fallen off and I go in for my first blood draw tomorrow morning. I could really use some follie growing dust if anyone has any to spare. QOTW: I would be interested in questions about finding and using DE. The only problem is that we are just in the thinking stage and I don't even know what to ask. To answer other questions: I started my period in seventh grade...not sure how old I was. I used bcp on and off. I think three different times for maybe two years each time. The last time was longer, more like four years. I did do a birth control shot once. It lasted for three months but was horrible? I never did it again.

    QOTW:  We don't necessarily have to do IF/TTC related questions.  We could do some like, "What was the last vacation you took?"  "Where did you go on your honeymoon?"  "Favorite hobby?" etc.  We could even do a picture-of-the-week type thing (like "favorite wedding picture" or "picture of your furbaby" etc.)

    It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
    Beta #1 (9dp5dt) = 206, Beta #2 (11dp5dt) = 438
    1st u/s @ 6w5d = 11/11/11 = ONE little bean! HB 120bpm!

    UMichGirl, I am so excited for you and this IVF cycle!  Sending lots of positive vibes and T&Ps your way!

    Update:  I start stims on FRIDAY!!!!  I can't believe I'm actually going to get to start!!  I had an u/s on Monday that showed things looking pretty good except a smallish cyst.  I had the cyst aspirated on Tuesday without any sedation/anesthesia.  After the aspiration (which really hurt), my RE could see a bunch of follicles!  It was my best AFC with my RE!!  I had 4 on my left and he stopped counting at 7 on my right, but there were possibly more there as they were in clusters.  So, I'm very excited about that! 

    QOTW:  I think the other ladies gave some good ideas.  The only other question I have is has any one been tested for BRCA1 or BRCA2?  If so, what were your results?

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    FET#1:  BFN

    Update:  I had my first monitoring appt for IVF#2 Monday.  It was terrible, I had no measurable follicles.  I have an apt tomorrow if there is nothing measurable I will be cancelled.  Please pray or send positive vibes that my ovaries decide to show up for the party!!!

    Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had my ER yesterday and we got 3 eggs. Waiting for the fert report later today. Hoping I had some rockstars in there. Otherwise it will be a miserable birthday... If we have any that make it, it will be a 2dt tomorrow.

    Status Update: What is going on in your cycle or where are you in your process?

    We received the PGD results on our vacation last week.  We have 2 normal embryos that will both be transferred on September 20.  For the time being I am on BCPs and start Lupron on Friday.

     

    QOTW: Are there any questions you'd like to ask here? A lot of the questions that have been posted here are basically derived from my curiosities since my diagnosis, so if there's anything you've been wanting to know please let me know here and I'll use it for future check-ins!

     

    I'd love to hear more about the BCP debate.  I suspected taking them caused some of my problems.  I was on them for about a year because we didn't want to get pregnant right away.  Ha!  I took either Alesse or Aviane (both one and the same).  Anybody else on those?
