Baby Stephen is here!!

Stephen Raymond is here!!! He was born on August 9th at 12:30 am. He weighed 10 lbs 2 oz and is 23 inches long.

I went in Monday morning to be induced, I was only 1 cm and 70% effaced so they started pitocin about 7, it wasn't too bad until they broke my water about 10am and then the contractions really started and I am guessing it was the pitocin but the were coming back to back and they didn't gradually build, it was just like a peak after a peak after a peak. I wasn't allowed to walk the halls b/c of my bp but I could get on the birthing ball which I did for a while. I was trying to wait until I was 4-5 cm to get the epidural, but I just couldn't take it anymore around 3, I got it. Unfortunately I had another problem, I am allergic to Fentanyl, which is basically what an epidural is so they had to come up with another alternative and it worked, for about 3 hours and then it kept wearing off. I started running a low grade fever and got really nauseous. They gave me some meds and I started pushing about 10pm. I pushed for 2.5 hours, at this point the I couldn't feel my legs, but the epi was doing nothing about the pain of the contractions.

At 12:33am out came my LO and they put him on my chest and I looked down and told my DH to meet our son. We were team green and it was amazing to wait and find out at delivery. He scored a 9 on his APGAR. All the nurses kept saying how big he looked and when they put him on the scale he weighed 10 lbs 2 oz and they measured him at 23 inches. He is amazing and we are going home tomorrow.
