I'm a FTM, so I'm not sure how much bleeding goes on after delivery. I've read a few things where women say to use Depends for the first week. Is it really that heavy to need an adult diaper? Any reccomendations on what type of pads to use instead of Depends?

I used these

for the first few days home, and then switched to my regular maxi. No problems. It was heavy at first, but not completely unmanageable.
I just used the hospital pads (I'm cheap and didn't want to buy more stuff). They sent me home with a big pack, and tons of the mesh undies. I had a C/S so the mesh panties were awesome for not rubbing the incision area. Yes, the hospital pads are large in size, but not crazy thick. They didn't bother me at all my first 2 weeks recovering- it's not like I was going jogging or anything. Once it tapered down and I ran out of hospital pads I just went to regular lighter flow pads or panty liners (can't remember if it was too heavy for a panty liner at that point).
I'm one of the ones that hates Always Pads. It feels like plastic against my skin and I get rashes from them. I'd go with something softer like Kotex.

You are probably thinking that depends are like real diapers. The ones that I think most people would buy are the underwear version for women and they have no plastic in them. I have never heard of lunapanties...must be for that time of the month? Interesting.
