play sand?

Where do you think I can get a small amount of play sand? My MIL sent Sophia a sand and water table . I know I've seen bags of sand at Toys r Us. I'm not imagining I need a ton of sand, right?

I can always just fill both sides with water, but she really loves sand.

    Home Depot. I have had to buy a bag of sand there before, for a landscaping project, but I can't imagine that sand would be any different. I would venture to say its probably cheaper there than TRU/FRU as well.

    I know Walmart had fun colored sand outside near all the plastic pools, but that was a month ago.

    Actually I believe that the play sand is different from construction sand.  It has gone through additional cleaning...  since most construction workers won't try to eat the sand.

    That being said, my dad is a construction worker and we used to play in the piles of sand, dirt and mulch at their shop and I lived to tell the tale.

    Lowes sells play sand.  Also, as a side note, even though we have a sand and water table, I only fill it w/one medium at a time.  Not saying you should do this, just throwing out other options.

    Home Depot sells "play sand" down in Glen Burnie. It is corser than beach sand, but better than the sticky/dirt sand. I tried bringing home a bunch of sand from the Bahamas, but my bag ended up being searched (at the airport) and not all the bags were returned. Oh well...

    Thanks guys. I ended up just going to Toys R Us because I was out that way. I got a 50# bag - only size they sold. We'll have play sand for the rest of our lives!
