Thank you so much for asking. Hailey is still on the ventilator, but not for the pneumonia any longer; if that were her only issue then she would be breathing on her own. The doctors have been unable to identify the infection in her throat so far but she had a CT scan this afternoon that will hopefully give them some answers.
When she is awake, she is breathing on her own- the vent isn't doing any of the work. When she is asleep, she is still breathing on her own about 50% of the time, which is much better than a few days ago. She will probably be in the hospital awhile longer, but she is steadily improving.
And, the (mandatory) CPS investigation of my friends is closed. Even though it happened at the in-home daycare, they had to investigate and have closed it with "no significant findings." Duh.
Thanks again. The thoughts and prayers mean a lot to my friend, and me. This is my DD's BFF, after all.

Thanks for the update! Im glad to hear the baby's condition is improving!
I am glad she is doing better and hope that she will be fully out of the woods soon. Will keep sending prayers.
