DH and I got about 6 boxes of diapers at our baby shower. We are planning to CD, but we'll keep a box or two of the really small sizes to have on hand until the meconium (spelling?) is gone, and in case I don't get around to laundry in time and we run out of CD's.
I really don't think we'll use all the diapers we received and we received some that are size 4 and bigger, which I really don't want to hold on to for a couple years. I'd like to return them but I don't know where they came from and I don't have a receipt. Any tips/tricks to returning them for store credit? I've heard Walmart is good for this, what about Target (we have a lot left on our Target registry that I could buy with store credit)? Do I need to try to add them to my registry, or just go into the store and return them?
Re: Returning Disposable Diapers?
I'd try Target. I know they can be kind of sh!tty about returns sometimes, but I went this past weekend with arm loads of stuff to return and they took everything back, no questions asked, and gave me a store credit. The only thing I had to do was give them my driver's license.
Obviously if the diapers are store specific you won't be able to get away with it, but if it's just some huggies or pampers, I'd say try Target since you have a registry there.
I would give Target and Walmart a shot as well. However, even if they do carry that particular brand/style, the store may not be able to return them in case it's a count that they don't carry. When I worked at BRU, people would try to return diapers, but we couldn't return some because they were returning say a 120 count of diapers when we only carried that kind in 104 count.
If those stores don't work, try calling the company - they may be able to tell you which stores carry the particular counts of diapers.
