My mom called me this morning letting me know that Graco has just
recalled some car seats. I have the Alano travel system now but will
also be buying the Myride65 this month. Graco is supposed to call me
with any recalls if I currently have the recalled car seat but have not
heard anything yet. Has anyone heard about this? If so, will you fill
me in on the details as to which ones have been recalled?
Re: Graco car seat recall (also posted on "Parenting" board)
None of the recall websites I use say anything about a Graco recall.
https://www.saferproducts.gov/Default.aspx shows the last Graco recall being in Oct 2010
You can go here and put your carseat model number in to check for recalls:

This morning on the Today Show (I think?) they talked about how scientists just found that Britax and Graco have the most hazardous chemicals in them. Maybe your mom heard that and got confused?
Here's an article about it:

Crazy. Thanks for that link. Our Britax has the highest toxin score..great..=( But I am glad you posted this. I am thinking we will have to get one that has a better score to use as his primary car seat. The Britax can go in daddy's or grandmas.
Thanks for the article! I didn't even realize this was an issue as a Scientist, and I am a huge chemical freak lol. Luckily we have the Orbit Baby system which makes BPR free stuff... totally worth the extra $$. You can read about BPR in this article which tells you about it in toys and baby stuff in general. It's freaky because I am exposed to some of that stuff here at work and we use so much protection against them even though they are in the micro quantities.
