Rosie is sick, my FIL who is supposed to watch her if I go into labor this week is also sick. My mother has been in Europe for the past 5 weeks and is supposed to fly out of Germany tomorrow, and is supposed to be here on Saturday so she'll watch Rosie if I go into labor. German air traffic controllers are supposed to go on strike tomorrow and it's going to lead to thousands of cancelled flights and who knows when my mom will be able to get here. I could just cry, I just want to go into labor not worrying about if Rosie is feeling well or whether my FIL can watch her or whether my mom will be here, or whether Rosie can even visit me in the hospital because she's sick or whether I have to bring a newborn home to a house full of sick people. I'm just hoping the baby stays in there for another week minimum so everything can be the way I planned it.
The US Congress SUCKS! They closed the session before they extended the FAA funding. This means there is no money for DH's company or his projects until they are back in session in SEPTEMBER! And since the FAA is shut down, no one is answering phones or questions there. So all the airport managers, town officials and contractors turn to the engineers for answers. Of course the engineers aren't getting paid either, but are left trying to keep everything afloat! For DH, it means no billable hours, so no paid over time, lots more work and lots of angry clients! Contractors will walk off the jobs and not come back, construction projects will not be completed in the alloted time, lots of construction projects will have to go back to the planning stages, need new permits, rebids, new contractors, etc when the money does come back. Oh, and a loss for his employer. And since there is no money coming in and no billable hours, it means no bonuses for the airport group this year!!!!! BUT twice the work! This is going to cost tax payers BILLIONS!
And the best part? This happened before, but only for a short period of time, and when the FAA went back to work, THEY GOT ALL THEIR BACK PAY for while they were out!!!!!
The twins used to sleep literally 6 inches from each other and could sleep thru the other one screaming like it was nothing. Now that they're getting more "aware"... if 1 sneezes the other one's eyes pop open wide awake. B was super, super crabby so I laid him down for a nap at 9:15. Nat seemed content so I kept her up til about 9:30. As soon as I left the room, Nat started whining and tossing/turning. Well now B is up. Their morning nap is usually 60-90 mins. His was about 10 and he will.not.sleep anymore. I'm sure he'll be a real gem. Now he won't nap for another 2 hrs which is exactly when Nat will be waking up. Can I please just have 1 minute to shower?!? It's been like this for about 2 weeks.
Yesterday I put them down at 2:30pm for a nap and went to work at 4:00. DH texts me at 6:00... 3 1/2 hrs later. "Wow they're both just waking up! Epic Nap!". AHHH!!!
I'm taking two whines this week, whine about me if you must.
We have DH's company picnic @ Enchanted Forest this weekend and we planned on staying with BIL @ the main camp where he is remodeling two others. Turns out the owner of the camps is going to be there this weekend! We can still go, but we have to stay in BIL's little camp with him. It only has one bedroom, a tiny bathroom and is totally not child proof, very old and very dirty. Plus the owner is a real nice guy, but also loves to talk, and talk, and talk... I know beggers can't be choosers and I am greatful for a free place to stay on the lake, I am just bummed because my kids don't sleep outside of their rooms and this just complicates things that much more! The camp grounds and hotels are all full :-(
I'm all worked up over Tylenol and it's raising my BP.
Someone on 12-24mths asked for Tylenol dosing early this morning because the doctors office was closed and Tylenol doesn't list it for under 2.
She got all kinds of answers. Some people talked mL, some talked 1 1/2 droppers, some talked about 3/4 tsp. Obviously the 3/4 tsp person was talking Children's Tylenol...but it wasn't specified.
I bought infant Little Fever's brand since there is still no Tylenol on the shelf. It has a completely different dosage. Instead of .4 and .8mL marks on the dropper there are .25, .5, .75 and 1.0mL. Of course I noticed this when I opened the bottle in the middle of the night last month and LO was screaming his head off. And they want me to do math because there is no dosage listed for under 2. Arg!
I know that they don't want the liability of giving dosages under 2...but I feel like not having them on the bottle means that there is a greater chance that kids are getting mis-dosed. It pisses me off!!!!
Charlotte has started doing this new awesome trick where you give her a sippy of water and she sits there and chugs the whole thing. At first, she was doing really well with this cup, but now she just swigs it all in and lets it dribble down her face and front. She will do this for the whole 6 oz. sippy of water, in one sitting. Not a big fan.
I fully intended to clean out a closet yesterday while I was home with no baby. I opened the door, took two things out, and then put them back in and closed the door. I lost my motivation.
There is so much little crap I have to do before our vacation. I can usually run one errand after work, but don't have enough time between work and LO's bedtime to run two errands. Doing things bit by bit sucks. And it's all small crap but it has to be done and I'm running out of time.
Oh and I just went to ship myself of box of small toys and diapers to Portugal so it will be there when we arrive, guess how much shipping was - $45! I didn't send it. Dollar store toys aren't worth that. And the damn thing wasn't even heavy or large. Arghhhh.

DH is working in Niagara Falls this week & of course they are behind. So...he'll be working OT tomorrow (supposed to work four 10 hr days) then drive the 3 hours home after work (only to get home at who knows what time) and will have to leave for Boston Saturday afternoon....I have to work Friday till 2 so here's to a whopping 24 hours of actual family time this week....ugh! I know it's his job, but sometimes you actually want to see your spouse for the 3 days he's supposed to have off a week!
where did my energy go? I've been doing pretty well getting through the day but since monday- I have be draggin' serious a$$- I laid down at 8 last night and woke up at 7 this morning and I could have slept the whole morning...
I know you get tired in the 3rd tri but I'm like mono tired..and I've got about 10 weeks to go...

Evan is in a "I don't want to go to sleep" phase. The past week he has been fighting both naptime and bedtime like a beast. He wants to read "nother book" (and how do you say no to that?!) or he's thirsty, or he wants the light on etc. etc. Once I close the door and tell him it's night-night time he flips... he does the fake, over-dramatic cry, and yells for me. It's heartbreaking and frustrating at the same time!

Okay I'm going to have a petty whine this week -
