We had DS outside at 5pm yesterday and the mosquitos were horrible! We only stayed out for a few minutes until I realized how bad they were and then cam back in. He has 4 bites on him today!
we also went on a walk earlier a few days ago and I put bug repellent on him and the darn bugs got under his arm and down the back of his shirt where there wasn't repellant.
Is there something you can do for an area like my front yard? I don't have standing water, like a pond, puddle, or anything like that.
Re: Mosquito repellent for an area
We have the same problem, so I am hoping someone has some advice. We have tried the yard sprays (attach to a hose and spray) and it helps a little, but not enough. I have seen granules that you sprinkle in the grass, but haven't tried them yet.
I actually tried Bounce dryer sheets the other day (suggested in a random junk e-mail) and did not have a single bite and I was out for about an hour. I put the sheets around the edges of our picnic blanket, but the e-mail said you can just put one in your pocket. I am still doubtful, but it's worth a shot.
There are sprays that you hook to your garden hose and spray your yard or stuff you sprinkle in the yard that my husband gets at Home Depot or the hardware store. We get eaten alive in our yard if we don't use them.
If your problem is mosquitos, I doubt putting granules in your yard is going to help. They're attracted to the CO2 your body emits and don't spend much time on the ground as it is. Plus, I wouldn't want my kid playing in grass I'd treated with a pesticide.
Perhaps one of those little Off fans?
