Those of you with IUDs (possibly TMI)

How long did you bleed after you got it? I got mine at the beginning of June and am still bleeding. I know it's normal to spot for a while, but I'm hoping it goes away soon.

    Both times (I had one before J, had never been pregnant at that point) I only spotted for a couple of days... longer this time around (I think.)

    I think at the 2 month point I would be following up with my OB (or GP) - of course if it is not every day it could be some weird AF happening too?

    Nope it's every day. When I got it, the nurse said she bled for a year before it finally stopped when she got hers. I'm really hoping that was just an extreme case and not the norm.

    Crazy! If that had been the case for me the first time around I wouldn't have gotten a second one! Of course I was also lucky enough not to have crazy periods with the copper one either.

    4 weeks of PP bleeding was too much for me...

    Mine was inserted during my period so it's hard to say, I bled an extra 4-5 days though.

    I spotted for a few days after i had it put in and spotted off and on for the 6 months i had it in. I know when i got it put in my ob said that the bleeding afterwards is different for everyone some the first month they have bleeding and then nothing. I know my cousin had one put in and she had bleeding the first 3 months and now she doesnt have any problems. I think everyone reacts differently to it, but if your worried i'd call your ob.

    I bled for 6 weeks last time. I haven't gotten my IUD re-inserted yet so we'll see what happens this time around.

    I bled for 6 weeks, then spotted another 2. I still have occasional spotting, but no periods.

    I bled for a good 2 months. It sucked, because my pp bleeding had just stopped before I had my IUD inserted.

    I think I bled for a good 2 1/2 months after  got mine. It would go from spotting to a little heavier. But now I dont bleed at all.

    I got mine in on May 31st, and I have yet to stop bleeding or spotting. 

    This is my second one, the first one I also spotted or bled about 20 days per month for 10 months, then I only spotted for like 2-4 days per month.
