We are starting cereal this Sunday. What is your routine for cereal? Morning or night? When do you feed the cereal before bottle or after? Just curious what everyone else is doing? Also how long are ya'll waiting to introduce actual baby food? TIA
DS's doctor told me to start solids at his 4 month appointment. She recommended that we start with a whole grain cereal and to skip rice. Last week we started with oatmeal. I do it after his morning bottle that he has around 8 am. Breast Milk or formula is supposed to be the main source of nutrition so you are still supposed to feed the same as you have been. The solids are extra. I am making his food with recipes from the wholesome baby website that pp posted the link for. This site is very informative. We are doing bananas this week and I am going to try pears on Sunday. I give him a little banana and a little oatmeal at the feeding. He has liked the food so far.
Re: Cereal Routine?
We started cereal last night. I did it in the evening just because that is what works for us.
Here is a website I found helpful:
https://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/solids.htmWe do oatmeal and give it at night before nursing.
This. Gerber has a good chart on their site. But always offer the breast or bottle first.
Here's Patrick's chart. We started solids early (per our pedi) since he was eating upwards of 48oz of formula a day.
