My name is Lyndsey and I just have to say that you really should spell it one of the two "normal" ways; Lindsey or Lindsay. I like my name, but no one ever spells it correctly and while it does not cause huge issues, it does cause minor ones (like clients assuming my e-mail address is with and i and not a y); it is just a big pain in the as* most of the time.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. The reason for no 'd' is that we have an odd tradition in our family (decades long) to have the same number of letters in the names. Like my DD & DS both have 6 and 3. My sister has 6 and 5. One cousin has 7 and 5. And so on and so on! Would really like to keep it!
I'm a Lindsay, and I have to say I like my name However, spelling it the way you have in mind will definitely result in spelling errors (like a PP mentioned). Not a huge deal I guess.
I think it looks misspelled. I saw your reason for spelling it the way you did but I think its going to be a big headache for her later in life- I would just pick another name with the number of letters you want.

I completely understand you, wanting to abide by tradition and everything. But in this case, I believe it would be best to pick a different name, which contains the correct number of letters. In my opinion, it will show that you put a lot more thought into keeping the tradition.

I don't like Linsey at all. How does that tradition work? Is the 6 and 3 the first name and the middle name? I'm confused.
I think Linsey is awful, reminds me of linseed oil. I'd either spell it Lindsay or pick another name that's actually spelled with 6 letters. Marley is such a cute name, if she has a sister her name should be equally as cute.
I'm all for family traditions, but as others have said, it just looks misspelled. But for the name Lindsey, I do like it. I went to school with a few Lindsey's (Lyndsey/Lindsay) and they were always sweet and nice. So that's the connectation I think of when I hear the name.

Re: Opinions on...
